Mini Bulldog Newsletter: January 20, 2017
From the Assistant Administrator:
Dear BSFCS Families,
We are learning what it is like to live in a place with actual seasons. Perhaps the novelty of rain has worn off a wee bit, as multiple students have experienced soggy britches and stockings over the last few days. With the weather, the use of backpacks has become of increased importance. Younger students in particular seem to benefit from having a vessel for transporting their items to and from school. This assists with helping to keep our classrooms organized as well. Between umbrellas, hats, gloves, galoshes, homework folders, lunch boxes, water bottles, and the rain, a backpack is an essential tool.
In February, we are fortunate to have a guest artist returning to BSFCS. Laura Ritchie is a professional cellist and professor. She has performed at BSFCS in the past and has graciously agreed to join us for an assembly. We will keep you posted as this event gets closer. Thank you to David Preston for arranging this opportunity.

Congratulations to everyone who competed in the school wide hoop shoot. The County Wide Hoop shoot was held at Cuesta College on Saturday, January 23. Representatives from the San Luis Obispo Elks Lodge came to the school office on Tuesday to give three of our students trophies. Congratulations to Evan Ellman, Adam Stone, and Maya Dunn; thank you for representing our school with your talent and good sportsmanship. Maya will be attending the regional competition in Santa Barbara. Way to go Bulldogs!

Welcome new Kindergarteners!
Introducing Our Para-educators: Ineui Yang and Neil Manuel
My name is Ineui Yang and I am a para-educator at BSFCS. I have moved to the beautiful city of San Luis Obispo last summer from equally beautiful city of Seattle (looks like I have brought some rain with me!). So far, I have been mesmerized by the beautiful beaches, kind people, and barbecue pork tacos. I am, however, in search of good Asian food and tea shops so please throw any suggestions my way!
I took up special education as my path of career after studying Speech/Hearing Sciences and Education at the University of Washington in Seattle. I have enjoyed my undergrad research at UW Autism center, where I grew my love for working with kids with disabilities.
I also work partly as a behavior interventionist at BSFCS and SLO district.
I truly enjoy the friendship that I get to build through working one-on-one with students.
I would love to dedicate myself in guiding students to find joy in learning and achieving their goals in their own very special ways :)”
I moved to this area from a suburb of L.A. called Lancaster, CA last May. I have worked for 10 years at the high school level as an Instructional aide, and I currently also work at Lindamood-Bell as a tutor. I have also privately taught guitar and piano lessons over the last four years, and am currently working on my credentials to become a full-time teacher in language arts. I am honored and ecstatic to be here at Bellevue-Santa Fe, and I have become a firm believer in charter schools. I appreciate the opportunity to guide young minds into becoming productive and helpful members of a demanding society. Go Bulldogs!
