Graduation
It is time
for
students to bring in a baby picture and a current picture to be used for a
display board on the day of graduation. Now is also the time for students
to bring in a list of three songs (title and artist) to be included on our White
Forum Compilation CD - all songs must be school appropriate. Finally,
those students who plan to perform at graduation (songs and speeches) should be
practicing at home.
Spring Auction
This year's Spring Auction is this Saturday, May 21.
Our live auction item will be a Yin Yang Garden Table designed and created by
the students. Our individual auction items will be masks molded to each
child's face. The masks were then decorated and named by the students.
This should be a fun day to come and support our school.
Field Day and Kickball
As usual, we will be holding our school-wide field day
on Friday, June 17 (the last day of school). This event will be from
9:00-10:30 and we need some parents to help out. Please contact Rosemary
Canfield if you are willing and able to help with this event. In addition
to field day, we will be holding our annual sixth graders vs. staff kickball
game on Thursday, June 16 from 2:00 - 3:00. Parents are welcome to come
and cheer on the teams and hopefully help with crowd control at the same time.
Open House
This year's Open House will be held Wednesday, June 1.
This will be a chance to visit all of the classrooms and get a taste for what
has happened throughout the year. I am keeping my finger's crossed that we
will have a Catalina video to share that night. At this point we are
having some technical difficulties, but hopefully those can be sorted out.
Volunteer Appreciation Day
Wednesday, May 25 will be our annual Volunteer
Appreciation Day. This is a chance for the school staff to say thank you
for all of the time and effort that our parent volunteers give to the school.
This year the event will be held in the Multi-Purpose room from 8:00-12:30.
Omelets, quiche, muffins and other goodies will be provided. Please stop
by anytime and let us say Thanks for all that you do.
Governing Board Elections
We have 2 parent governing board positions that need
to be filled for next year. Applicants have submitted their names and
written candidate statements that appear in the latest bulldog. The
election for these openings will take place on Tuesday, May 31. Please
stop by the school on voting day and take a part in selecting your parent
representatives.
